Hi! I’m Angie Tillman. I am a Registered Dietitian and mom who is on a mission to help other ladies find peace (and health) with food.
I’ve worked as a dietitian for over 15 years now. And, over that time, I’ve worked with so many patients and clients who believe they must starve themselves or follow some crazy diet to lose weight. I believe strongly in the philosophy of eating “real” food and honoring our hunger and fullness cues. I regularly practice and teach the concepts of mindful eating and intuitive eating.
I love all kinds of foods and enjoy balancing coffee, chocolate, red wine, pizza (gluten free), and ice cream, with lots of fresh fruits, vegetables, and lean meats. My hope with this blog is to continue to inspire myself and others to be passionate about food and to live a balanced, healthy life that can include pizza and wine and chocolate and movement!
In the past few years, I’ve been diagnosed with an autoimmune condition, Hashimoto’s thryoiditis, which has impacted my study of food and nutrition greatly. I have been learning to challenge many of the traditional nutritional recommendations I was taught during my education. I’m learning so much about nutritional therapies that can help me to improve my health, and my goal is to continue to learn so that I can eventually be a greater help to others who are dealing with autoimmune diseases. I’m currently focusing on learning as much as I can about the benefits of gluten-free, Paleo, and autoimmune protocol diets.
I hope to share the ideas that work in my busy life, and also to learn from you. I’m far from perfect, but perfection is not my goal. My healthy life is definitely a work in progress. Thanks for reading.
