Snooze-aholic

HPIM2406

Good morning!!

Quick and simple breakfast today: whole grain English muffin with almond butter and blackberry preserves + berries.

Does anyone else totally abuse the snooze button on your alarm clock?ย I have to find a way to start jumping out of bed on the first alarm. This morning, my alarm was set for 6:00 and I didn’t crawl out of bed until 6:48! I have to add- this isย a lifelong pattern, so change may not even be possible at this point ๐Ÿ™‚

What works for you?

Have a great Friday!

  1. 4 kids work much better than an alarm clock… ๐Ÿ˜‰ LOL!! Breakfast looks delicious! Have a wonderful day!

  2. I used to put my alarm clock on my dresser (which is not within reach from the bed). It forced me to get up and by the time I walked over to the dresser, I was awake enough to go on and get in the shower.

Unfortunately, I have had the alarm clock next to my bed recently and have gone back to hitting the snooze a few times… guess I need to go back to the old approach!

  3. Once I had kids I stopped snoozing. Now, when my alarm goes off I GET UP because it’s the only time during the day that is ALL MINE! I get up, watch some news and sip some java. I’d rather have me time awake than asleep for a sucky 9 minutes! LOL!

  4. I inevitable wake up about 3-5 mins before my alarm goes off, and once I am awake, I am AWAKE! Lol.

    Have a great Friday ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. If you ask Nick what my morning ritual is, he’d roll his eyes and say I am a snooze queen. You are not alone! I have been known to push it up to 6 times…but my normal is about 2 or 3. I usually do that when I get ambitious and set my alarm clock for really early, thinking I will get up early and do some pilates or just relax before getting a move on, but then at that time my alarm goes off and I no longer like the idea of waking up early, so I continue to push snooze until I ACTUALLY need to wake up. When I set my alarm for the exact time I need to wake up, I have no choice but to turn off the alarm and get up (Nick likes that).

  6. I DEFINITELY abuse the snooze button! The ONLY thing that has worked for me is to move my alarm clock far, far away to a place where I can’t reach it…

  7. Honestly, I wake up when the sun rises (which is getting much later these days…), even when I’m wearing an eye mask! This can be a good thing (never late in the summer) and a bad thing (hard to wakeup in the winter!). My alarm clock gets a break until September, and from then on it’s so loud that I have to wake up!

  8. Oh yeah snooze is good – but my snooze button is broken, haha. What works for me is the wakeup light (alarm clock that slowly lights up, waking me naturally) and reminding myself that snoozing is not good for your internal clock (I heard).

  9. I just stopped working to go back to school, and classes haven’t started yet, so I am enjoying sleeping until I am ready to get up! But when I was working, I got up at 4:00 to be at the gym at 5:00….I would immediately hit the alarm off so it was either, get up, or fall back to sleep and get up when my husbands alarm went off at 6:30. Usually, I got up. I am enjoying the time off very much!

  10. I agree with Moralia, there is no better alarm clock than kids. You should get yourself some… ๐Ÿ˜‰

Beautiful breakfast! I hope you had a great day!

  11. your English muffin looks so thick and doughy! what brand do you use if you don’t mind me asking?!

  12. Your snooze was so close to beating mine! Today was the only day that I didn’t have an 8am lab/class and my snooze was abused extensively. Wanted to wake up at 7:30. Didn’t happen until 8:45ish ๐Ÿ™‚

  13. OMG, I do that all of the time! I tried putting the clock far from my bed, but it didn’t work. I have no problem getting up every 8 minutes to hit snooze and going back to sleep. LOL

  14. I usually hit it a few time no matter what, even if i ‘hide it” I still find it and hit the snooze button

  15. I’m a snooze queen myself, but not lately. Since my husband and I carpool to work and have to leave the house together, I’ve come to rely on him nudging me awake. He gets up first, showers and then nudges me up. It’s less jarring than the alarm buzzard, but now there’s no opportunity to press snooze!
