Balance for Breakfast


Happy Friday! Breakfast today was a cool and delicious combo of fage 2%, drizzle of honey, berries, + hemp pecan “grawnola”.

You know, one of the things that I aspire to is balance in all areas of my life….work, play, food, sleep, friends, family…and I certainly don’t always do it well, but it is always a goal. You know how you feel when life is out of balance? Too much work, not enough sleep, not enough down-time? I guess there will always be times like that, but my goal is to try to balance things out. Today I’m working toward balance by:

1. Slowing down my morning routine- I’ve rushed around for early meetings most days this week, so today I’m moving slower.

2. Starting my day with a balanced meal to balance out yesterday’s day of treats.

Do you find it hard to maintain balance in your life? What do you do to try?

  1. It can definitely be hard to maintain balance, especially during school. I try to get enough sleep so my mind and body can heal, and also eat nourishing food. Oh, I try to get a massage at least every month to relax my mind and heal my body from training.

  3. Very nicely balanced breakfast… 🙂 I’m glad you are not rushing this morning…

    I try to evaluate from time to time how I spend my time and how I could “make” more time. Several months ago, hubby and I decided that we spent too much time watching T.V., so we canceled Cable T.V. I do feel I have a whole lot more time….

  4. Honestly, I’m having a hard time balancing my meals throughout the day. It’s like I eat a lot in the morning, then I eat off and on during the day, then a lot at night. I made a goal to work on this, and I’m doing much better, but I know I haven’t mastered this balance yet. I need to eat more for breakfast (maybe close to 400 calories, compared to 300), then more for lunch (instead of just snacking all day on fruit/veg/and yogurt, etc). I’m working on this, and I think it will be much easier when I get a job and a daily routine!

  5. I do find it hard to maintain balance in my life; between work, school, exercising, trying to eat right…it gets a bit crazy at times! I just try to take things one day at a time, and usually, it works out 🙂

    I think you’ve got the right idea to slow down a little bit! It’s hard when things feel out of balance…sometimes I feel the same way…like I’ve got too much on my plate, so to speak! Usually a little “me time” helps me get back on track 🙂

  8. I definitely have a hard time balancing my life. It is one of my goals to do so! I tend to do too much work and too little play 😦 But I am getting better at it and sounds like you are too! Balanced breakfast and a slower mornings sound like an excellent start!
