How are you? Hope you’ve had a good Wednesday. This has literally been a non-stop day for me. I was in meetings from 8 – 11 am, had a brief break to catch up on emails and phone calls from 11 – 12, then another meeting from 12 – 2. It has been a really valuable week, though, and I hope that we can continue to make progress towards our goals of Excellence in Customer Service.
So, on my way to work this morning, I stopped at McDonald’s to pick up a bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit + hash browns to use as a visual example of a “not so healthy” breakfast on my TV segment. It was the first time I’ve been at McDonald’s in a long time, and I was totally amazed at how many people were in the drive-thru line at 7:30 am- I know I shouldn’t be surprised, but it was a good reminder that fast food is ever-present in our society today!
During our first morning meeting, I had a few bites of some dried kiwi and almonds, that our consultant, Jessica brought in….yum.
Jessica also provided us a nice lunch during our Mission and Visions meeting. We worked on clearly defining our Mission and Vision of the Weight Management Program. It was a very useful and important meeting. I had a wrap (mine was ham, turkey, and cheese) + veggies with a little ranch dip and a pickle.
When the Mission and Vision meeting ended at 2, I rushed to go home, pack up all the food items needed for my TV segment, and head to the station. The segment was about Healthy Breakfast. I talked about some quick (less than 10-minute) breakfast options and I made a sample of banana-pumpkin oats (or what I call Superfoods Oats). Hopefully they’ll have the video up on the website later and I’ll be sure to share a link. The show I was on is called Live at Five at Four.
When I got home, I snacked on this Odwalla bar- I had never tried one before, and I absolutely loved it.
Now, I have some sweet potatoes in the oven…and Anthony’s grilling a steak. Our plan is to have a quick dinner and make it to the 7:40 showing of Julie and Julia! I’ll definitely share my review of the movie later!
Have a great evening!
