Superfoods Oatmeal

Good morning! I was up bright and early at 5:15 for my 6 am Sculpt class – I got to the gym and waited….and waited….and no one came! Very unusual, but I got a good elliptical workout in anyway since I was there.

Breakfast was one of my favorite oats combos yet…

  • 1/2 cup oats
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup canned pumpkin
  • 1/2 banana

(Which made 2 servings). Topped with dark chocolate, blackberries, blueberries, and raspberries + a spoonful of crunchy almond butter – what a great combination!

I’m not really a huge fan of calling foods “superfoods”….there are so many foods that could fit into that category – and so many different lists that I have seen. But, if I were going to make my superfoods list – everything in this oatmeal would definitely be on it! What’s on your superfoods list?

  1. Your berries look so fresh! Good thing you got a workout in anyways–I would not have been happy getting up that early for nothing!

    My list would include spinach too!

  3. Your berries look BEAUTIFUL!! Come on, tell the truth…. are you enhancing the color your pics?? LOL! I’d have to agree…. everything in your bowl really is a superfood… plus maybe sprouted bread and beets!

  4. My “superfood” list is huge…things like flax, avocado, berries, chia seeds, almonds…the list feels endless! I doubt they’re all really considered superfoods, but to me, they are! You’re lucky you got your workout in already – I usually workout towards the end of the day, but I am always so envious of people who get up first thing and go. Sorry no one showed up for your class…but at least it wasn’t a complete loss!

  5. Mmmm… pumpkin oats! I was just looking at my can of pumpkin in the pantry this weekend wondering what to do with it! I think I figured it out πŸ™‚

    I have to say for me… spinach, almonds and berries are my favs!!!

  6. Blackberries are on my list. They are so good. I love when things actually taste good for you. They’re cheap at Costco right now, everybody.

  7. Love pumpkin oats! Hmm, my fave “superfoods” include spinach, pumpkin, berries, oats… and greek yogurt! For me, I think of “superfoods” as foods that are really nutrient-packed, not “superior” or anything.

    Mmm your breakfast always looks so delicious! My fave “superfoods” would be spinach, almonds, and salmon…yum!

  11. Wow the pumpkin, berries, chocolate, and ab combo does sound mighty tasty!

    My list would include spinach, kabocha, broccoli, avocado, coconut, nuts, berries…I don’t know, you’re right, there are too many πŸ™‚

    Hmmm superfoods! Where to start… almond butter (always a good place to start), blueberries, bananas, spinach, kale, broccoli, chocolate, avocado, brazil nuts, almonds…. the list is endless πŸ™‚
