Weekend Warrior!

6 am wakeup call this morning for our exciting 2 and a half hour bootcamp-style Weekend Warrior class…for a little more background on the class, check out one of our prior classes, Strong Women, Weekend Warriors!

Breakfast was a 5-seed almond bar with crunchy almond butter, a cup of coffee, and plenty of water.


Here’s our before shot…doesn’t everyone look excited and strong?


Part of the warm-up…isn’t the park beautiful? Gosh- it was humid though, I think you can see the moisture in the air…


We started with a circuit with 4 stations….medicine balls, resistance bands, jump ropes, and steps…we did 5 exercises at each of the 4 stations…here’s a few excerpts…side abductor lifts on the steps…

Relay races…


Throw in some suicide runs, sprints up a (steep) hill, walking lunges up the same hill…and a bunch of other stuff….then we headed back to the gym.


Snacks…I had one of each…


Some Pilates…


And stretching…and we were done! Happy faces in the after photo….

And great job ladies – you are awesome!

Recovery lunch at home…lots of water, grilled cheese with garden tomatoes, some berries + cherries, and cheddar pop-chips – delicious!


I hope you’ve all had a wonderful Saturday so far!! I have lots of cleaning and laundry to do while my sweet husband is sweltering outside in the 88 degree temps mowing the lawn.

  4. I kept looking for you in the pictures, until I realized you took the pics! Duh Gina.

    Looks like a great workout, with perfect pre and post snacking to go along with it 🙂 You’ve got to get those glycogen stores back up, haha.

  6. awesome work out!!! I would so love to put together a boot camp for ladies… but i don’t know if *I* could make it through it… haha!

  10. Yay!!! I love the pictures of the ladies doing the weekend warrior! I’m going to have to look into this more and see if my gym can do something similar. I know it would be a big hit!!! Thanks again for sharing!! 🙂
