Happy Monday evening!
I am so happy to be home as usual. I must be a bit of a homebody – even though I rarely get much time home to hang out at home and do nothing…I really crave it!
I had a good afternoon at work- a couple of nutrition consults and then I taught boot camp class. We did quite a bit of moderately heavy strength training and then some sprints outside- man, was it steamy and humid! Good workout, though. After bootcamp, I had some fage 2% with granola and a drizzle of honey to get me through the rest of the evening.
Then, we had our last weight loss class of this 12-week session. It was well worth the work we put in seeing the progress that several of our participants have made. One lady (who has been in our program for nearly 2 years now – and has lost over 50 pounds in a really healthy way) told us, with tears in her eyes, that we had truly helped her to change her life…..very powerful and encouraging. My co-workers Heather and Chad and I work so hard and sometimes we are discouraged by our participants’ lack of attendance, or apparent lack of enthusiasm…but it is the small reminders that even if we help change one life…it is worth it!
When I got home a little after 8:00, my sweet husband had heated up the whole-wheat naan pizzas I made earlier…delish!
And, we had one of my favorite treats – now this is not something we usually make at home – but it is something we love to have as a treat on vacation- so tonight was like a vacation at home – pina coladas!
Life is short- seize the day! Have a pina colada!
