Simple Dinner and Fun Movie

I tried a new recipe tonight that I modified a bit….Emily’s Mediterranean Pasta….

I love, but I almost never follow the recipe exactly as written…so, with this one, I substituted Kalamata olives instead of green olives, I left out the bread crumbs, and I added one can of diced tomatoes, and some fresh basil and crushed red pepper at the end….it turned out great. Add a piece of garlic bread, or two…and this was the perfect dinner.

Then, my sweet husband went to pick up a movie and he brought back Confessions of a Shopaholic – I loved it!! I had read the book a couple of years ago and really liked it, and tonight, the movie didn’t disappoint…just a fun, light-hearted movie with a good story.

So, since we started the movie a little late….one dog got a bath tonight…and two more need a bath tomorrow. There’s always something fun to look forward to in this house.

Off to bed – Goodnight!!

  1. I do the same thing. I use recipes as a guide but alter them to my (and my family’s) tastes. Glad you had a good movie night!

  2. Just dicovered your blog and I really like it! That pasta looks great, and really simple too.

  3. Like the commenter above, I get a lot of recipes from recipezaar also.
Glad to hear the movie was good. I think I’m gonna watch it this weekend.

  4. Kalamata olives are so great, I bet they really added a great flavor to that pasta!! It looks great.

Nick and I watched a movie last night too; Death at a Funeral. It was a British comedy, kind of a dark comedy, but not really…it was great!

  5. I’ve been wanting to see that movie! That’s great that Anthony will watch a “chick flick” with ya 🙂

  6. I decided to watch a movie last night too, but Chris was in class 😦 Our little buster needs a bath this weekend too, he’s stinky! Hope you have a wonderful weekend 🙂
