Hot and Steamy

I drove by a bank on my way home from work this afternoon – and the temperature read 102 degrees!! But it has turned into a beautiful and cooler evening now….

Lunch today was one of my Friday staples- grilled chicken caesar salad from the hospital cafe- they make the salads to order with these huge homemade croutons- delicious….I also had a white nectarine which was perfectly sweet and fabulous.

And this afternoon- on my way home from work- I stopped by a new EarthFare that is just about 5 minutes from our house- it just opened two days ago and I had to check it out. I loaded up on fruits and veggies, and some steaks- we’re cooking dinner for my dad and Anthony’s dad tomorrow night…..and I tried a couple of new items for me….Food Should Taste Good sweet potato chips….I haven’t tasted these yet, but I’m looking forward to it.

And, some medjool dates- I had to taste one of these right away…yum!

After unloading all the groceries…I went out for a nice walk/jog – it was probably still in the 90s, but I still prefer exercising outside when I can. And, since we didn’t have anything really planned for dinner….we went to a nearby restaurant, Aubrey’s…and I had a delicious grilled chicken salad with apple, cranberries, pecans, and feta….along with a glass of Cabernet. It was the perfect dinner on a warm night.

I am so so excited that we get to sleep in tomorrow…my best day of the month!!

Have a great Friday night!

  1. Good for you to work out outdoors despite the hot temps! Your dinner looks perfect. I’m glad you get to sleep in tomorrow… Enjoy your weekend! 🙂

  2. Angie!!! It’s Friday! Sigh. The weekend is a beautiful thing. I did something AMAZING tonight that you need to check out on my blog. Oh, and 102 degrees is ridiculous, preposterous. You need to move. lol.

P.S. I love dates. I wouldn’t have made it home without trying one either.

    Goodnight!

  3. Where do you live again? I don’t think I even know. The picture on the front of your blog isn’t helping me, I’m pathetic. 102 degrees is WAY too hot!! I was surprised to see 91 degrees on the news in our city today, I was sweating bullets after being outside for 10 minutes.

I love sweet potato chips, they are so tasty, better than regular (and much more nutritious!)

  4. I love your salads! That’s great that you exercised, even when it was hot. I don’t know what I’m gonna do when I go back to Arizona! Those summers are CRAZY! Enjoy your weekend 😀

  5. Is it humid in Knoxville? I was raised in Indiana so I do know what that can be like. Good for you to get out and exercise. I don’t know how you can do that in such hot temps.

  6. Thanks for the comment on my blog – yay for RDs! 🙂 90 degrees? And here I’m complaining about 80 degrees this morning . BTW – your wedding pics are gorgeous! Look forward to reading your updates – I’ve added you to my reader 🙂
