Thanks for your great comments on last night’s Intuitive Eating post. Great point, Amy and Andrea – about craving certain foods more during pregnancy. I think that really reinforces the idea that forced restriction of certain foods can definitely cause more intense cravings. The good thing is, during pregnancy at least- it is for a temporary time….but I like Andrea’s idea of finding a close substitute – like veggie sushi. Of course, there are certain medical conditions where certain foods must be limited or restricted – and finding a close substitute is probably the best you can do in those situations. But, Intuitive Eating, to me, really is more about letting go of the idea of restricting for the purpose of dieting/weight loss. I’d love to hear more of your thoughts.
Breakfast this morning was oats with banana, strawberries, dark chocolate chips, and almond butter. An excellent start to the day- with a cup of hazelnut coffee with cream that my sweet husband made….
