Food, Fun, and Games

This afternoon, Anthony and I left home to drive about three hours to Nashville. We stopped and visited Anthony’s brother and his family for a couple of hours and then went to our friend Michael’s house to spend the night.

Michael always goes all out when we come to stay….and tonight was no exception. He and Brian made us some fabulous snacks and appetizers….we started with a great cheese and veggie tray with delicious sharp white cheddar.

And, a delicious homemade frozen margarita….I feel like I’m still on vacation.

Here’s the spread….clockwise from the top…black tiger shrimp cocktail, amazing crab cakes, Michael’s yummy homemade bruschetta, Brian’s delicious taco dip, Brian’s taffy apple salad (so yummy- I had never had this before- it had great texture with peanuts, apples, pineapples), and the veggie/cheese tray.

Here’s my plate….I also nibbled on some chips and salsa.

After dinner, we spent the rest of the night playing a new version of Cranium – oh my gosh- this was so fun! We used to play this alot years ago, but it has been a long time. I was laughing so hard I was crying at times! If you haven’t, definitely try this game!

Thank you Michael and Brian for your hospitality….I love visiting Michael- even though I think I ate a little too much- it was all so good!

I think we’ve stayed up a little too late – it’s 11:00 now and we have to be at the hospital tomorrow morning at 6 am, so I need to get into bed. Say a little prayer for my father-in-law that surgery goes well tomorrow.

Goodnight!
