Power Breakfast

Good morning!! My alarm went off at 5:05 this morning…I am SO not a morning person!!

But, once I get awake and moving, I’m usually good….I taught Sculpt at 6 am- it is amazing how I’m able to turn the energy on when I have a room full of participants ready for a hard workout! My friend Tammye says, “Fake it till you make it”…and that was me this morning! I really haven’t gotten enough sleep for the last 3 nights…and sleep is so important – so tonight I am going to really focus on bed at a decent time. I believe that sufficient sleep is right up there in importance with eating well and exercising in relation to health and wellness.

After a great full-body strength workout, breakfast was my new favorite combo:

  • Special K with chocolate
  • Kashi Honey Sunshine
  • spoonful of almond butter
  • fresh strawberries

This breakfast is so good! And a cup of Caribou coffee….delicious!

    Re: sleep, you are talking to a sleep maniac here!! I’ve got to be one of the only 22 year olds who would take sleep over going out…pretty much anytime 😛 I need like 8.5 hours to feel good though, so that would probably explain it 😉

  4. Do you think your lack of sleep stemmed from sleeping in until 10 am? Seriously, that is why I MAKE myself get up early, even when I want so bad to stay in bed. If I sleep in I am thrown off for days, my sleep clock is all out of wack! Either way, I’m glad you’re back into the swing of things. I suppose if I had to wake up at 5 in the morning I would love to sleep in till ten if I could. That is SUPER early!!!! HAve a great day.

      Gina- You are probably absolutely right!! Usually on the weekends I’m up by 8 or so, but this past weekend, I just really needed (wanted) the extra sleep…you are right that it can throw your whole sleep clock out of whack! Tonight, my goal is bed by 10 so I can get a full 8 hours! I’ll let you know how I do!

  6. 5am….yikes! I hear you on the sleep thing…I always have intentions to be up early, but easier said than done!

    Is that a K-cup I see?! Thank god for that, right? I can’t live without my Keurig 🙂

      I am so in love with my Keuring- my co-workers got it for me as a wedding gift last year, and now, I don’t know how I lived without it!
