I hope you’ve had a great Thursday so far…This has been a tiring week for me…we’ve been sort of busy each night, and there is alot going on at work, and I’m really craving a nap or vacation (I get one in 2 weeks!).
Today, I needed some fresh air and to get away from my desk, so I had a nice picnic lunch right across the street from the Wellness Center. There’s a great greenway loop that goes around a pond, so I enjoyed a picnic lunch of a leftover Jennie-O turkey bratwurst on a wheat bun with onions and peppers and a juicy red pear.

And, what a beautiful day, not a cloud in the sky…
On my way home, I was craving a little treat…so I picked up a vanilla ice cream cone.
It really hit the spot…sometimes, I just feel like I need a little treat…it makes me feel better if I’m tired, or stressed. It isn’t necessarily a bad thing. I talk a lot about Intuitive Eating, but a cool thing is that the authors mention that it isn’t always necessary to eat from pure hunger…but sometimes from other kinds of hunger. I think what is important is to not let emotional eating turn into a binge…and to realize that eating for an emotional reason won’t really solve your problem. For me, I know I’m a little sleep-deprived- I’ve been staying up too late and getting up too early this week. So, tonight, I’m skipping my workout, and I’m going to try to get into bed at a decent hour…But, my ice cream was really good and I enjoyed every bite!
