Not so green monster

This afternoon, after grocery shopping, I decided to make my own green monster….it seems to be the coolest smoothie right now! I actually first made a green smoothie with spinach a few years ago for a wellness camp for kids – we called it “Groovy Green Smoothie” and we were all surprised that it was so good…but I haven’t made one since…so I decided that I would try one today.

Not so green!

I used frozen mixed berries (blueberries, blackberries, and strawberries), one banana, 1 cup vanilla almond breeze, and 2 handfuls of spinach….I think the purple color from the berries was just overpowering…so, Anthony and I each enjoyed a Purple Monster.

For dinner tonight, we visited one of my favorites….

We shared an order of veggie spring rolls with the best dipping sauce ever!

And, my favorite, Drunken Noodles, Pad Kee Mao…

I am seriously in love with this dish!

After dinner, we visited Anthony’s parents for awhile. Now- it’s nice to be home….It’s been a fun day, but long. I’m looking forward to crawling into bed!

  1. Oh wow, that dish looks delicious! Drunken noodles is a funny name!

  2. I guess berries have that effect on the green monster, poor green monster loses its!

    Yummy dinner!

  3. I always wondered what made this dish drunken. In my area, it’s usually drunken chicken (as oppose to a sober one, I guess).

  4. Pad kee mao is usually way too spicy for me (I’m a wimp!), so I stick with pad see ew, which is really similar. Except not spicy at all and very savory. 🙂

  5. Groovy Green Smoothie ehh? It just needs to be tweaked and called the Passionate Purple SMoothie 🙂 Even if it didn’t turn out like you thought, it still sounds like a healthy delicious treat! Those drunken noodles look amazing.

  6. I drool each time you post this noodle dish! There’s nothing wrong with a Purple Monster- looks fab and fancy in your wine glass!

  7. I’m seriously in love with your Drunken Noodle dish, too!

Oh my gosh, guys! The drunken noodles are SO GOOD! I wish I could learn to make them at home- I’ve seen a few recipes but haven’t been brave enough to try….maybe one day…for now, its probably best that it is just an occasional treat. Hope you’re all having a good Sunday!
