Up Before the Sun

Good morning!

My alarm clock went off at 5:05 today because I was scheduled to teach a Sculpt class at 6:00. I’m not really a morning person, but I try to teach a 6 am class at least a couple of times a month…just to remember that I can get up that early! And, once I’m up, I really love it.

It is a full body sculpt class, and I like to do it in segments: lower body, upper body, and abs…x 5 till we hit all the major muscle groups. Today we did:

#1 squats, bosu squats, weighted squats

      chest presses, pushups, chest presses

      v-sits on bosu

#2 stationary lunges, alternating forward lunges

       bentover rows, single arm rows with knee lifts

       Pilates hundred

#3 plie squats and side lunges

      Arnold presses and lateral raises

      judo crunches

#4 walking lunges

      heavy hammer curls and bicep curls

      planks x4

#5  lying hamstrings on bosu

       tricep dips

       bicycle crunches

Stretch and we’re done!

Now – quick breakfast – oats with Barney Butter and Nutella- delicious with a great cup of hazelnut with cream.

  1. Sounds like a great class! I LOVE the bosu! I use to take a class in Boston called Bosu Bootcamp and it kicked my butt everytime! Nutella and oats…. sounds decadent!

  3. I’m not a morning person either!!Reminds me of the time I used to wake up at 5am everyday to go for my aerobics class back in India(that was when I was working and before the lil’brat was born). Now,it’s a lot easier-my son and I go to the gym at 10am 😉

      Tra- One of my friends, an exercise physiologist named it that…he learned it from a martial arts class. It is a rolling crunch, side to side, alternating legs on top…I’d probably need to show you- my description may not be that great. It is close to the Pilates exercise rolling like a ball.
