This afternoon, I had the opportunity to attend the SEHFA conference- the topic today was “Personal Training after Bariatric Surgery”. The speaker was good and I got a good reinforcement of many things that I have been practicing for the last 7 years with my bariatric patients. Probably the most important thing I got from the workshop today was to always remember to treat each patient as an individual- during the busyness of everyday life, sometimes it is easy to just try to teach them what they need to know, when, in fact, I need to remember to listen more to what they need from me.
So, after 3 hours of sitting in a workshop, I was HUNGRY! I had a banana in the car on my way home.
I went home, freshened up, and then Anthony and I headed back to the conference ice-breaker social….which meant food….and drinks.
We decided to just make the appetizers our dinner. I started with some fresh pineapple, a small piece of swiss cheese, broccoli, carrots, an egg roll, and 2 coconut shrimp with a yummy sweet sauce….and a glass of Merlot.
Then, I went back for small plate of seconds…more pineapple, another shrimp, one meatball, and some broccoli with dip….and half a second glass of Merlot.
It was a fun night, but I’m always happy to be home…I’m still a little hungry, so my nighttime snack is going to be a chocolate vita-top and a glass of milk.
It’s been a long day- I’m heading to the couch to curl up with Anthony. Good night!
